from a living forest came my hardwood floor though it is very pretty I can’t help but miss the core it’s never been rotten, neither is it green dust I sweep is dirty and the bark was always clean (if) you can’t take my offered hand hold on to something, you’re halfway gone and the thought occurred to me you trade love for sorrow. why? this I’ll never know I run with a message that on history leaves a mark the strength is in the legs and the will is in the heart on this king’s errand there is no finish line just a carrot on a stick that can never be mine if you can’t take my offered hand hold on to something, you’re halfway gone and the thought occurred to me you trade love for sorrow. why? this I’ll never know from a living forest came my hardwood floor though it is very pretty I can’t help but miss the core it’s never been rotten, neither is it green dust I sweep is dirty but the bark was always clean (if) you can’t take my offered hands hold on to something, you’re halfway gone and the thought occurred to me you trade love for sorrow if you can’t take my offered hand hold on to something, you’re halfway gone and the thought occurred to me you trade love for sorrow. why? this I’ll never know

grandfather clocks, time in two beats why am I alone father, why must I be? quiet and discreet; burn with tempered heat? children are at play and I want to be with them in the streets hey there big man framed in the clouds I am tired of how strong and proud you are turning away, turning ‘round when I ask you what it’s all about walking back and forth, to and fro I believe that’s from the Book of Job pacing like a lion, defending my pride don’t look too long upon me don’t cross the line! I am a siren calling from the deep, begging for mercy to stand me on my feet I come to share a song, one minute on the waves then gone sailors pay me with their lives, I put these pennies in the jar and I know that they want to meet with me and though there’s so much tragedy in the method that they chose still feel it’s better that we not meet on the shore walking back and forth, to and fro I believe that’s from the Book of Job pacing like a lion, defending my pride don’t look too long upon me don’t cross the line! spheres are buzzing with a sound rattling, rolling and the source can’t be found just underneath, hey, just out of reach stop watching TV, listen, stop tapping your feet if we concentrate I am sure we can find the cause of uneasiness in the heart of mine turning away from father time with one word on my lips and that word is “why” walking back and forth, to and fro I believe that’s from the Book of Job pacing like a lion, defending my pride don’t look too long upon me don’t cross the line!

when the fish doesn’t bite and the wind doesn’t come and the water is poisoned by the rust in the drum and you’re far out to sea, not a soul knows you’re there in a boat that you built with your hands that were bare with your hands that were bare well I don’t mean to stare but you all seem to know something I don’t was I missing when it was told? well I won’t ask you even so the meat on my bones is not with my head I am off on an astral plane while my body reads in bed the story is ancient, another human on a quest I am tired of dreaming, lift this weight from my chest lift this weight from my chest well I don’t mean to stare but you all seem to know something I don’t was I missing when it was told? well I won’t ask you even so to the beacon of light, I am traveling there I am waiting for no one, I’m feeling no fear I’m stripped of my armor, there is nothing left to fight I am traveling yonder to the beacon of light to the beacon of light well I don’t mean to stare but you all seem to know something I don’t was I missing when it was told? well I won’t ask you even so

whistle back to me the worker’s song that made them strong so I can hear their story it’s a sign of the times when the wishing wells and the church’s bells cannot call us to their sides this time if I choose I could just slip on a pair of old shoes could suffer and struggle cuz it’s what I do when the world is cold and cruel when the world is cold and cruel well a leech is a leech, when put to skin it’ll suck blood and not even give you warning but if i put a fire to its back, how long would it hold before lust so bold was trumped by the pain? this time if I choose I could just slip on a pair of old shoes could suffer and struggle cuz it’s what I do when the world is cold and cruel when the world is cold and cruel how long must I train the sun through the glass upon the leaves for there to spring a flame? well ears to the ground. how far behind did I fall last night when I melted into the crowd? this time if I choose I could just slip on a pair of old shoes could suffer and struggle cuz it’s what I do when the world is cold and cruel when the world is cold and cruel if I choose I could just slip on a pair of old shoes I could suffer and struggle it’s what I do when the world is cold and cruel when the world is cold and cruel

Both Sides 05:15
it’s been deep, it’s been real now I have to catch a train and one night’s sleep upon the rails heading over those hills and dales it’s like a big thing that we can just be a lot of people don’t feel that it’s like a big joke, and it’s always on me maybe next round will be on them, we’ll see I like to be where I can be of some assistance hey when I’m up there’s always someone down and when I’m up there I can clearly see the distance when they may be trapped under some heavy clouds that’s not to say I can avoid causing destruction I try but there are times you’ll have to seek the bunker out this bully hurts more than the victims that he faces in the bombardment there are broken shouts from both sides war is hell I tell you and that’s not just a thing we say one man compelled to kill another I haven’t done it but I read the play one child threatened with deprivation fights in the sandbox licks his food from a plate one land under this frightened leader who wields the country like a broken blade I’m not on a side, I’m here in the middle while the see saw goes I’m standing in a surfers pose I rock just a little it’s clearly much more than a game to them I’m here in the middle but I can see both sides Leave your right and wrong throw out the judge's gavel rest your defense, the truth is in between both sides

Holiday 04:29
in my dream it’s a holiday try to picture too cool winds and a ball of light fill the morning, setting under you catch a scent and it takes you back to a time more true when life was a wonderlove flowing out to you so many times that I alone have sat with my eyes closed trying to find my way home see the colors and hear the sounds of sweet clarity touching my life once again

God Speed 04:03
where’re you going, can i come with? I’m just here throwing my voice in the wind no one shouts back, so I assume it got lost on the way cuz the distance was too great it’s off a ways, but not too far I go there often so I don’t lose the spark the times that I have had some company never hurt me none so come on and join me if you want I’m falling down from the sky and I’m searching for thermals to rise I’ve had my near-death ride and no surprise - it’s hard to talk about it godspeed to you, godspeed to me it’s funny God’s a word I don’t use usually but I’m feeling brave, I’m feeling strong I don’t care if they think I’m right or wrong I’m falling down from the sky and I’m searching for thermals to rise I’ve had my near-death ride and no surprise - it’s hard to talk about it where’re you going, can i come with? I’m just here throwing my voice in the wind no one shouts back, so I assume it got lost on the way cuz the distance was too great godspeed to you, godspeed to me it’s funny God’s a word I don’t use usually but I’m feeling brave, I’m feeling strong I don’t care if they think I’m right or wrong

sometimes there’s no wind coming in through the ocean’s door and sometimes you can’t feel, but you will just give it some time to flow in your dreams melodies come from nowhere all night they fill you up then the day breaks and you reach out there for nothing hands on that empty cup and by the look on your face you took the long way home I’ve got a way to calm you down too much time has passed us by the sand in the glass is on the move life is warm summer days spent on the waves, rolling with each one until God pulls the sheets and tucks us into sleep I’ll miss the rise, the fall, the calm looking over your shoulder it is easy to see what you do but I like the view

about

Owen Plant & Brother Vic Saint Simons Island, Georgia

Jamaican-Born, Singer/Songwriter/Performer Owen Plant's style is reminiscent of artists from the '70s, old-time reggae groups and contemporary acoustic artists. His laid back, soothing and delicately honed vocals and songwriting are the center pieces of his sound.

His forthcoming LP, “I Was on the Moon” is his most ambitious in scope. It is slated for release early summer 2016.
