lyrics

Wanna Go Back

Wanna go back
Wanna go back
To where I was at
Wanna go back

Tommy gun gone yes him meet him demise
Undah di bridge wid no prying eyes
In the fair city of San Buenaventura
Down by the beach
Ay que locura!
Two piece a wood mek a cross
Nail it up good
Rain and di wind run fast
Write “rest in peace” mek it short
RIP mi no wah no duppy in mi yard!

Wanna go back
Wanna go back
To where I was at
Wanna go back

Wi gonna mek another Haiti wid some big Pappa Docs
Leapfroggin’ leaders while dem linnin’ dem pockets?
I’m not wavin’ a bloody shirt
History repeat
little man always get hurt
Bidabombi bidabombi lailalalalei
Old world melody
Slave-ship rhythm in the holy hymnal today

Wanna go back to the mother
Back to the sea
Where we all long to be
Back to where the sun hits the blowing trees

Wanna go back
To the pothole backhole streets of Trelawney
Wanna go back
Cool wind in my hair
to where I was at
We all come from some place, maybe the same place
Wanna go back
Oh I’ll go there with you
Wanna go back
like the salmon do, like the birds do
Wanna go back
Cool wind in my hair
Where I was at
I wanna go back

His forthcoming LP, “I Was on the Moon” is his most ambitious in scope. It is slated for release early summer 2016.
